The Slippery Slope
As humans, we're always trying to rationalize our bad behaviors.
We go to great lengths to justify why doing this one thing, just this once isn't so bad.
It's an inherent design that protects our ego.
You want to slam some pizza on the weekend?
Go ahead, you ate pretty well all week. It's okay just this once.
You want to skip your training session today?
Go ahead, you trained twice this week. It's okay just this once.
Stay up late to watch Netflix when you have to be up early?
Sure, you can function on 6 hours sleep. It's okay, just this once.
I'm telling you, this is a slippery slope.
It's rarely ever, just this once.
Giving in to laziness or lack of discipline that one time, makes it so much easier to do again.
And again and again.
Don't give in.
Tell yourself that you're not that type of person.
You're not the kind of person to gorge on pizza and beer all weekend.
You're not the kind of person who skips their training.
You're not the kind of person who stares mindlessly at a screen for hours instead of taking care of their body.
That's for weak people, regular people.
Stay strong and hold the line.
And watch out for that slippery slope.
